Environment description: Growing on slopes below road, intertwined with canes having orange fruit
Comment: Exploration for Rubus Germplasm in Guizhou Province, People's Republic of China. A China-USA Collaborative Project with the Nanjing Botanical Garden, Guizhou Botanical Garden and the USDA-ARS-National Clonal Germplasm Repository-Corvallis. Canes arching 2.5-3.5 m long. Fruit purple, small, and good tasting, some mature fruit on plant and much already dropped. Seeds collected from a few plants, and herbarium specimens, with mature fruit, intertwined with orange fruit
