the attribution of the name to Engelmann on p. 336 is interpreted as an indirect reference to the basionym Vitis aestivalis var. cinerea Engelm., not ascription to him, given the comment on p. 319: ?M. Engelmann la rapproche du V. aestivalis dont elle ne serait qu'une variete. Elle m'en parait distincte; cependant, je desire reserver encore mon opinion avant de me prononcer definitivement dans un sens ou dans l'autre.? (Shenzhen ICN Art. 46.6, 46.8)
