Narrative
Type = Plum. Per Manual of Fruits (see citation): Related to Pershore Yellow Egg but in season later and of better quality for preserving. The canned product has an excellent appearance and bright clear-golden colour. In season last half of September. Oval or egg-shaped, medium to large, pale yellow, spotted and speckled with brownish red, light bloom; flesh yellowish, firm, flavour fair to good. Vigorous, making a very large tree with conspicuously drooping branches. Very hardy. Flowering early. Self-compatible. Cropping heavy. Originated as a seedling and propagated from suckers like Pershore Yellow Egg.
