Narrative
Comments: Fruit: very much like Dolgo crab, long conical, polished brilliant, dark, solid cherry crab with attractive blue bloom; flesh yellow, acid. Tree: very productive, free from blight. Both Alexis and Dolgo make fine jelly, sauce and preserves; highly profitable for market. The susceptibility of Dolgo and Alexis in field test..varieties have exhibited only necrosis w/out sporulation in greenhouse infection test in Indiana using Ill., Ind. and Wisc. isolates of fungus and have remained scab free in Ind. in field since 1948. Scions for tests from U of Minn. Fruit Brdng Frm, Excelsior, Minn.
