Narrative
Seedling of unknown origin, planted in 1949 in Encinitas, CA by Ernest S. Burdick and Rodney B. Taylor, selected in 1956 tested at the Citrus Exp. Sta., Riverside, CA as CES 288. Plant patent 1868, September 22, 1959 by Burdick, assignor of one-half to Taylor. Nut: large, averaging 40/lb., shell thin, averaging 1/16 inch thick, kernel averages 4 g, shell well-filled, cracks out about 34% of total nut weight, October harvest season. Tree: bears annually.
