Found by Fred Ashworth, who found that the nut would separate with a mere pen knife and give good meats. Probably is the hardiest cultivar.Seedling was discovered in 1954. introduced in 1967 by Fred L. Ashworth, St. Lawrence Nurseries.
Nut: Large shell; medium thick; kernel plump, no ridges, flavor good; pellicle medium brown; kernel extraction moderate; resembles 'Love'; ripens September 27 in Heuvelton, NY. Tree: extreemly hardy; somewhat tolerant to Melanconis juglandae.
