Type = American Hybrid. Per Brooks and Olmo (see citation): "Orig. in Geneva, New York, by Richard Wellington, N.Y. State Agr. Exp. Sta. Introd. in 1952. Ontario x Grosse Guillame; cross made in 1925; selected in 1932; tested as N.Y. 13035. Fruit: clusters large, tapering, loose, conical, shouldered; berries large, oval, reddish-black, non-slipskin; flesh juicy, meaty, tender, pleasing aroma, quality very good; season just after Concord. Vine: vigorous, productive, tends to overbear, adapted to wide range of soils, some winter injury. Recommended for home and local market use."
